Judge E. Lynise Bryant-Weekes
Judge Esther Lynise Bryant-Weekes was appointed to the position of Judge of the 36th District Court on October 29, 2007 by the Honorable Governor Jennifer Granholm. She is a native Detroiter. She was born and raised on the east side of Detroit and attended Stephens Elementary School, Barbour Middle School, Cass Technical and East Catholic High Schools. She attended Eastern Michigan University graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. She received a Juris Doctorate Degree from Wayne State University Law School. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and was admitted to practice law in the States of Ohio and Pennsylvania in 1992 and 1993 respectively.

Monica Alvarado, B.S., Director
Ms. Alvarado was involved in the conception and formation of the community court here in southwest. She is a lifelong resident of the community and is committed to preservation and improvement of the southwest Detroit neighborhoods. She is a graduate of University of Michigan with a background in criminal justice.
James Phillips, A.A.S.,Community Service Coordinator
Mr. Phillips has extensive experience working with community service volunteers and the prison re-entry population. He has an exhaustive knowledge of issues and barriers facing defendants and how to inspire change and success. He has an educational background in mechanical engineering.
Patricia Terteling, LLMSW, Resource Coordinator
Ms. Terteling came on board to the community court project as a social work intern where she became familiar with resident concerns specifically to southwest Detroit. She has now joined our team and is committed to building and fostering the community partnership network required to make community court work for residents and all stakeholders.
